I have been thinking on this once a while for years now. The old system of women changing last names when they marry is getting old. After all, the equality happened. Time to change that fossilized system. But how do we change it to something more suitable yet equal to everyone? That took me quite a while on once a while hard thinking. This is quite a bizarre thought experiment for me, since I am not very social at all. It's not because I'm a geek. I am one, but thats not the only cause. ...

I couldn't find anything on internet that may explain this unusual problem of mine. It's nothing serious so far, and don't worry, it's not "private" problem. Basically, once a while my big toe ( either one ) starts to go down and continues well past the point where it get really painful. But I could force it back up and it's fine. Sometimes it's really stubborn, however. The big toe thing is very common, happening in least 5 times or more a week. Most times it is not stubborn so I can...

I wanted a great controller for few PC games. The consoles has those great controllers. The PC ones is usually either great and $100+ or crappy. Also, console companies usually does pretty good research on how people likes or dislikes controller design. I loved Xbox so I had chosen Xbox controller. I'm not sure if you know this, but Xbox is basically a super-modded PC. Those controllers? USB devices. So you could use any device that connects to those Xbox controller ports on your PC, wi...

I was surprised that I got the email from police after just 2 days. Apparently, my car was found where the thief left it. There's definitely some damage, but none too serious. my driver door key hole was seriously damaged and needs to be replaced. I guess someone used a screwdriver to open the door. The ignition were slightly damaged. Apparently, the Toyota cars are very easy to steal. Guy just hacked off tiny bit of plastic and removed the ignition, then used screwdriver to start my ...

In my previous article about annoyances of being deaf, I have shown few things that annoys me. What does this have to do with voting? I just met one of officers that had syndrome of one of described annoyances. I had to sign "writing" 5 times before the lady understood that I can't lip-read. That was very annoying to me. Anyone have any problems with voting? Anyway I have voted and now awaits the results.

I did some research on Patriot Act II and it is indeed extremely BAD news if you are concerned about the freedom. "Privacy Invasions. USAPA II dramatically widens the powers of government to invade the privacy of Americans and others living here. This includes: " "Gag Orders and Increased Governmental Secrecy. The "sunshine of public review" is a key check on abuses of governmental power. But USAPA II makes it even harder for the public to evaluate what the government is doing with its ...

Few years ago, I started making skinnable programs. First of all were XXCalc. It started at forums of Skinz ( not current but much older version ). With the support from skinners there, I have improved it very much since the original version. XXCalc: Skinnable calculator. All the basic functions with ability to be skinned. Little later, I decided to try to make advanced XXCalc with more functions, but that version flopped because of very slow loading of skins ( vb.5 flaw with loading fi...

I noticed it appearing once a while, but now it's getting worse and worse. It's time for the crackdown on the spam posts. I notice that whatever the jerk is, he or she always uses OLD blogs to dump his or her crap in.

My recipe is pretty simple but is very tasty. It's perfect for parties, snacks, or using up that chili leftover left for 2 or 3 days. Go to store (if not already has those in stock). Buy those necessary ingredients: Veilette cheese (sp? ) small box type, usually $6.00 to $10 depends on store. And a choice of one of those: Whatever you pick, the volume should be about the same as veilette box. Chili leftovers Chili cans Salsa dip Tomato juice ( not drink but actual juice ...

This article is about how people, or more accurately, Hearing people reaction to a deaf person. Some is just funny, annoying or just plain puzzling. Help Seeker: Person that looks around and try to find a hearing friend/family/whatever when I ask them something or try to order something. Yo! I'm one that's ordering! Sometimes I go with friend or family member who happen to be deaf, they try to speak to me when they find out that my family/friend is deaf. They usually try to look around aft...

I always wondered about the polls. News always show them, websites has em, etc. The polls usually is very accurate and truthful. (I said usually!) However, what is truthful can also lie too. It's kind of like one of those statements that is truthful but intent or content is distorted. You say, "Hey! How can it possibly be truthful and deceitful?" Basically, it goes like this: For example, a poll may show that 35% of people prefer to eat road kills and 40% likes to eat roadkill only if...

I am shocked to discover that there is a pollution that is widespread but seems to be largely ignored by the media and even by scientists that study pollution's effects on our world. Quotes from the site: "DHMO contributes to global warming and the "Greenhouse Effect", and is one of the so-called "greenhouse gasses." " "DHMO is an "enabling component" of acid rain -- in the absence of sufficient quantities of DHMO, acid rain is not a problem." "DHMO is present in nearly every cree...
