I was surprised that I got the email from police after just 2 days.

Apparently, my car was found where the thief left it.

There's definitely some damage, but none too serious. my driver door key hole was seriously damaged and needs to be replaced. I guess someone used a screwdriver to open the door. The ignition were slightly damaged. Apparently, the Toyota cars are very easy to steal. Guy just hacked off tiny bit of plastic and removed the ignition, then used screwdriver to start my car. Bah. But I simply plopped it back on and it started right up.

Only thing missing is a crappy monitor I had left in my car for quite a few months. I think guy thought that there were an entire computer in the back or something.

Surprising, guy left other stuff, which easily totals up to twice the cost of that crappy monitor ( approx value $30 to $50 USD ). I still has my hydrogen building lights, a fiber optic x-mas tree.

I think that guy did approx 200 to 300 USD worth of damage to steal a 30 to 50 USD thing.

I think that it's crappy thing to do to someone else, however. In least I don't have to take a bus again. Total of a HOUR of waiting just to go to college.. Oh man. I'm glad I don't have to miss a day of work, whoohoo! I do like my current job and it's a 35-min drive across long searches of freeway. Bus/metro train would take in least 3 hours, without the waiting time.

I gonna get me a wheel bar. In least that would lessen chance of my car winding up elsewhere again.

Is good that you have it back, but a shame about the damages.

Yeah it's great. Those problems like broken door keyhole is bit annoying but it's nothing compared to total loss.

Thanks.

Excellent that you got your car again. Sometimes I just don't understand people.

try a cutoff switch under the seat or the dash, that works pretty good too, and if you (or someone you know) knows a little bit of electricity, you can put them in pretty cheap. (they also come in a keyed form, so even if they find it, they can't turn it on easily. You can still steal one with a wheel bar, just not quite as easily.

Yeah? how much does those keyed cutoff switches cost?
